A border of richly detailed flora with butterflies surrounds the central text. Crowning the ketubah at top and bottom in gold is a quote from the Song of Songs: “As a rose among thorns, so is My beloved among the daughters. Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest so is my Beloved among the sons.”
